Monique Lhuillier Fall 2011 Collection

Red carpet ready.

From the show notes:

"Dark, sultry and seductive. This woman knows how to get what she wants. Dark, lean, and very structured silhouettes. Suits are cut with strong shoulders and frayed edge details in wools, tweeds and techno jaquard fabrics."

Sounds like our kind of gal. Look, we're sure you're tired of reading this, but we can't write up this collection without once again claiming that the pictures don't really do it justice. And that's really saying something, because the pictures are pretty damn gorgeous. But the movement, the rich reds, the sumptuous fabrics, and even the sense of drama - all of that is vastly heightened with a collection like this when you're in the same room as it.

Monique Lhuillier is one of the queens of the red carpet gown and the reasons for that are evident here, world class glamour, the aforementioned sense of drama, the old world femininity and the old Hollywood sense of style. By the end, the crowd was gasping with each new gown, so worked up were they by all the overwhelming pretty. We left the tent on a total high. It's easy to rip these gowns when some stylist pairs them with the wrong starlet or the wrong accessories, but taken like this, in their pure form? Flawless.
