We were a little surprised by these pictures. First, with her look, which seemed to put some people off. We love it. It's so striking with the bleached eyebrows and dark lips. It really plays up her long, angular face. And it's such an unusual face to see on the cover of Vogue that it really captures your attention. Pretty, but in a chic and unusual way; not at all in a conventional way, and isn't that what we expect from her? We really love the clothes she's wearing too. They all manage to straddle the sensibility line between Gaga and Vogue. Love that blue Haider Ackermann on her. Also love the Louis Vuitton; the colors really suit her. And that Alexander McQueen toreador look is so perfect for her you'd think it was designed just for her. But the second surprise is that she's really not much of a model, is she? For such a charismatic, image-based performer, she's not really working the camera or her body.

As for her much-discussed comments from the interview, specifically:

“Speaking purely from a musical standpoint, I think I am a great performer. I am a talented entertainer. I consider myself to have one of the greatest voices in the industry. I consider myself to be one of the greatest songwriters. I wouldn’t say that I am one of the greatest dancers, but I am really quite good at what I do.”

Well, that's just Gaga being Gaga. Her entire career so far has been something of a satire on celebrity self-importance so we tend to take comments like that with a HUGE grain of salt, assuming that she's being deliberately provocative.
