Oh, Brava, Galadriel. Bra.VA. Long have we opined that brave starlets should break out the chic pants on the RC, which, because the entertainment and fashion industries are not-so-charmingly retrograde in their thinking, has been the bastion of Victorian gender politics, i.e., ladies wear skirts, full stop. To hell with that. A lady can wear pants and still be considered formally or semi-formally dressed, so long as she's wearing the right pants and pairs them well. Cate is, unsurprisingly, one of the few female celebrities with enough style to pull this off. The wide-legged white pants are a perfect accompaniment to the double-breasted tuxedo jacked. The simple white blouse and the rolled-up sleeves give the look the sleek insouciance it requires (and that Cate pulls off so effortlessly). She looks fabulous and so very, very IN.
