Alessandra Ambrósio for Numéro Tokyo
Numéro Tokyo January/February 2011 Issue
Editorial: "Start Me Up"
Photographer: Matthias Vriens-McGrath
Model: Alessandra Ambrósio
Although to be perfectly honest, it's kind of dull. We just wanted to feature it because Princess Puffysleeves, Christian Siriano, got himself a dress in an editorial and that doesn't happen all that often with PR alums, even the most famous one. Plus we figured mostly naked muscle men in tiny little grape smugglers was reason enough to post it, except it's playing on the very old and very tired "Black bucks" stereotype, which is unfortunate. But the clothes are pretty and she's working the shit out of them, so that counts for something, right?
Oh, to hell with it. You know what would be really pretty, not to mention revolutionary? An editorial with white and black models of both sexes ... AND EVERYONE IS WEARING CLOTHING. Radical!
