Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2011 Collection
There really aren't such things as seasonal colors anymore, are there? Granted "Pre-Fall" is an inherently silly classification, but there was a time when anything with the word "Fall" in it denoted, well, autumnal shades. With this collection of bright, feminine, classic looks rendered in shades of pink and turquoise (among other colors), Oscar de la Renta is offering clothes that can be worn any time the temperature goes above 50 degrees. These are pretty and uncomplicated looks; the kind of collection that inspires a chorus of "OOOOH. WANT!" We love the color choices and the textural qualities, especially those tweedy skirts and jackets.
In typical de la Renta fashion (and part of the secret of his longevity), the collection is a combination of dresses and separates, with very few pants in view. He has a somewhat old school vision of femininity but it's nonetheless still appealing to the modern customer. The man just knows what he's doing.
