Women's Wear Daily 100th Anniversary Gala

What happens when fashionistas hit the red carpet?

Darlings, it was the Women's Wear Daily 100 Anniversary Gala at Cipriani in New York City and the fashion crowd and wannabe fashion crowd were out in force. We're a little confused looking at these pictures. We'd love to see what the invite said because the men are mostly in jeans and sneakers and the women are mostly in cocktail dresses. Very odd.

As for the answer to the question posed above, apparently not much happens when the fashion crowd hits the red carpet. These people are famously averse to risk-taking as well as infamously judgmental about each other. No one in this crowd was going to color outside the lines. For Christ's sake, even Betsey Johnson came all in black. Marc Jacobs wore pants. They all weirdly look like they just left work and took the subway over, which maybe they did, but some of them could have definitely used a little freshening up before hitting the carpet. Especially Isaac Mizrahi, who took a break from painting his apartment to attend the party, apparently.
